What survey firms ask us first.
We have been burned by offshore modeling before. Why is this different?
Fair question. Our modelers work alongside a LiDAR survey team that does field work too, so they read your scans the way a surveyor would. Registration issues, control problems and bad scans get flagged when your files arrive, not after we've modeled against them. And you don't have to take our word for it: we'll model a small area of one scan at no cost.
Who do we actually talk to?
Us. 3DGS is the US company you contract with, and we handle scoping, communication and checks before anything reaches you. You're never passed on to a team you can't reach.
What LOD should I ask for?
LOD 200 to 300 covers most renovation and facilities-documentation work, and LOD 400 is for MEP coordination and clash detection. If you are unsure which applies, tell us what the model will actually be used for and we will recommend the LOD ourselves rather than leave you guessing.
Do you handle MEP modeling?
Yes, at LOD 300 and above where the point cloud supports it. MEP density is one of the bigger drivers of hours on a project like this, and it is priced into the quote up front rather than discovered partway through.
